Footvolley Netherlands was voor de zomer actief bij Eredivisie Beachvolleybal. Heerenveen, Utrecht en Groningen werden aangedaan.

Daarnaast is FVN actief geweest bij een toernooi in Nijmegen.

Internationaal waren er toernooien in Eilat, Schwabisch Gmund, Barcelona, Baku, Ajaccio, Piana, Ajaccio en Antibes.

22/23 September is er een toernooi in de buurt van Athene.

Israel upsets Brazil to take the title on season opener

Groningen – January 7, 2018 – What a start to the season it was! The FlexVirtual International welcomed teams from eleven nations and saw Israelis’ Pascal Schmidt / Maor Haas, pave the way towards their first title in the season.

The 2-day event delivered some exciting matches, including Brazil’s upset against the local squad Bart Zantman / Martjin ten Duis in the opening rounds. The Dutch went undefeated during the group stage, along with Joel Nisslein / Mo Obeid (Germany), Oren Zubeari / Barak Spoj and Jonathan Flash / Ron Ben Ishay.

The playoff rounds started with the eight teams battling to join the group stage winners in the quarter-finals. The highlight match featured Italian youngsters Federico Iacopucci / Alain Facinni against Pascal Schmidt / Maor Haas in a 3-set battle setting the end of the road for the Italians.

The quarter-final stage was highlighted by the presence of four Israeli teams and the rise of the Brazilians when it mattered most. Both nations made their way to the final, and watched Israel’s Oren Zubeari / Barak Spoj defeating Martjin ter Duis / Bart Zantman to secure the third-place spot.

Fans were given the most wanted final match-up, a clash between the favorites, Brazil, and the promising talents from Israel. The encounter revealed Israelis, Pascal Schmidt / Maor Haas as one of the teams to look out for this year. The squad kicks off the season with confidence and seek to continue their winning streak at the World Footvolley Cup in Eilat.

FlexVirtual International Footvolley Tournament 2018

Information

On this page we try to give as much information about the upcoming international footvolley tournament in Groningen as possible. This tournament is organised by Footvolley Groningen.

Players can fly to Amsterdam and travel by train to Groningen (2 hours, 25 euro, one way ticket). They can also fly to Bremen and travel by bus to Groningen (2 hours, 25 euro for a one way ticket).

Date and location

The date of the tournament will be: 4th – 7th of january 2018. We will play in Binn’npret (Ulgersmaweg 52 Groningen). There are 4 courts.

Objects in Groningen you might need to know is on this map. Binn’npret is in yellow and the Grote Markt (Big square) is in blue.

Hotel

Invited teams stay two nights at the Studenthotel.
Every (extra) night will cost 70 euro inclusive breakfast.

Food

We will provide at Binn’npret:
-dinner at fhursday, friday and saturday
-lunch at friday and saturday

Drinks you have to buy for yourself. You can drink the water in The Netherlands.

Transportation

From the direction Amsterdam you get out at central station Groningen. Invited teams will get transportation to the hotel.

During the tournament we will provide transportation to go to the centre.

Clothing

Every player will get a singlet. Please bring your own shorts. Teams have to wear the same singlets/shorts.

Fee

Players of extra teams has to pay €65 to the indoorlocation.

Wachtmeester en Drenth spelen remake EFVL Ajaccio

Jan en Erik zijn voor even herenigd geweest tijdens het EFVL toernooi te Ajaccio eind september. Ze speelden een remake van de finale van 2005 tegen Alessandri en Leca.

De wedstrijd werd verloren ondanks dat Jan en Erik oppermachtig waren tot 17-9. Daarna bleek het niet mogelijk om de bal te scoren.

Antonio en Ben speelden het toernooi voor Holland en deden dat best goed. Ben Sparenberg speelde met name de eerste dag geweldig.

De kwartfinale was het eindstation.

Henk Woudstra en Arie Paap waren ook mee met de Nederlandse delegatie. Zij floten uiteindelijk de finale tussen Portugal en Corsica (Frankrijk). Portugal won het toernooi.

EK Albufeira

In Albufeira was Nederland goed vertegenwoordigd:

Daarnaast was er nog een trainingsweek georganiseerd door Friends for Life (Oostenrijk). Hieraan namen deel: Kaspar Schlebusch, Ben Sparenburg, Mark de Vreede en Emiel Birza.

Ook was er nog een groep uit Werkendam eo (Ton Reichard, Niels de Haan en Hendri Kant)

Holland 1 werd uiteindelijk in de kwartfinale uitgeschakeld door Frankrijk 1 (Corsica).

Holland 2 verloor in het kwalificatietoernooi van Portugal door opgave. Bart Zantman blesseerde zich aan zijn lies en kon niet verder.

Beide damesteams stonden knap in de finale en werd gewonnen door Holland 1 met 2-0.

Beide scheidsrechters uit Nederlanden floten de finale die tussen Portugal 1 en Frankrijk 1 ging. Portugal won deze finale met powerfootvolley knap met 2-1.

Martijn ten Duis werd nog derde in het open toernooi dat ook werd georganiseerd door friends for life.

Footvolley Groningen heeft 18 maart een slag geslagen door Heijt en Bloem in een spannende finale te verslaan.

De finale werd met 18-16 gewonnen.

Door deze overwinning is de kans wel heel klein dat de heren plaats 1 nog verspelen.

Dit is gunstig ten aanzien van de buitenlandse toernooien. FG kan zich daardoor in een vroeg stadium orienteren op de Europese Leaguewedstrijden en World Championships in juni, juli en augustus 2006.

De wedstrijden vonden plaats in Binn’npret te Noorddijk (Groningen). Fg speelde voor ‘t eerst in haar nieuwe outfit. Hoofdsponsor BDO was aanwezig en keerde tevreden en enthousiast huiswaarts.

Binnenkort worden gemaakte foto’s geplaatst. Aanwezig waren afgevaardigen van De Gezinsbode (fotograaf), DvhN (fotograaf en verslaggever) en Ewoud Broeksma (fotograaf).

Zondag 19 maart zijn de heren bij Radio Noord te gast samen met Ton Boot (coach Capitals/Donar), Jan van der Veen (presentator) en Dick Heuvelman (journalist DvhN).
